The map search website Tomnod has supplied satellite images sourced from Digital Globe enabling subscribers to join the search party.

The plane disappeared from radar systems less than an hour into its flight on March 8 and no traces of the plane have been found.

Search teams are currently scouring 15% of the planet’s surface in an attempt to find the plane.

Student Steven Daglas shared a screen grab of the satellite image he had found via Tomnod and shared it with the caption: ‘This is a photo of the possible Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 debris that will reportedly be investigated.’

He followed it up with another snap, pointing out what looks like the missing Malaysian plane.

'And this amazing overlay by redditor /u/MichaelFR85 (not the finder) helps see poss. Malaysian #MH370 more clearly,’ the student wrote.

The area is also where a Greek-flagged cargo ship reportedly spotted suitcases floating on the surface of the water.

Rock star Courtney Love also joined the search party, and she reckoned she had managed to track down the missing plane: ‘I'm no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick.’
