Serial killer nurse Victorino Chua was sentenced to 35 years in prison last week after being found guilty of murdering two patients and poisoning 20 others in a terrifying killing spree.

Dad-of-two Chua, 49 - dubbed the 'angel of death' after he chillingly referred to himself as ‘angel turned devil’- was convicted of murdering grandmother Tracey Arden, 44, and Derek Weaver, 83, and poisoning 20 others, at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport in 2011.

The Filipino father-of-two - described as a ‘narcissistic psychotic’ who enjoyed watching his victims suffer - tampered with medicine, secretly injecting deadly levels of insulin into saline bags given to patients.

****The youngest of Chua’s victims, Zubia Aslam, 27 - who lives in Glasgow with her five-year-old daughter - is lucky to have survived but still suffers severe anxiety.

She says: “It's a miracle I survived and it makes me angry that my daughter could have lost her mum. Before, I was bubbly and out-going, now I feel like a shadow of my former self. If the contaminated bag had run its eight-hour course, I could have died.

"I'm glad justice has been served and I want to be able to move on. When I went to court, I was shocked to find out the extent of Chua’s crimes. It was the first time I’d heard the full details. He showed no remorse, he was emotionless. I want to ask him ‘why?’ It’s so upsetting that, along with his other victims, I’ll probably never get answers. What he did will never go away, but hopefully the memories will fade.”
