In actual fact, there are five more important things that contribute to workplace wellbeing, career site Glassdoor has revealed.
What they found after studying thousands of salary reports and employer reviews from the same year, is that having a higher salary only translated to a 1 per cent increase in employee satisfaction.
Here are the top contributing factors to worker’s happiness:
1.) Culture and Values
2.) Career Opportunities
3.) Senior Leadership
4.) Work-Life Balance
5.) Compensation and Benefits
6.) Business Outlook
So in short, it’s much more important to work somewhere where you believe in their ‘mission goal’ and share a similar outlook, than it is to have a few more quid in the bank.
Similarly, people felt happier when they received benefits through work, were able to have a good life outside of work, and where there were options to progress.
