Kay, 28, chose to take the holiday despite the fact she does not earn a penny, and lives with her generous parents while still receiving income support.

The young mum travelled to Australia, Bali, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Turkey, Greece and the Netherlands with her ten month old daughter.

She is now planning another trip to New Zealand.

Kay says she chooses not to work because she wants to spend quality time with her daughter, also admitting that she doesn’t really need the benefits she receives (about £700 a month) because her mum and dad pay for everything.

‘If someone’s offering you free money and telling you to take it, you’d be a fool not to - that’s all I did.’

‘No I didn’t need the money as such and I didn’t need to go travelling either but I wanted to so I did.’ she said.

‘I don’t feel guilty and I don’t regret it.’

Kay even revealed that she had been living in Rome for ten years when she fell pregnant, and knew the English system would look after her better.

She added that ‘loads of mums’ on the same benefits as her spend it all on ‘the latest education toys and nice new clothes for their kids but I’d rather spend it travelling.’
