After Lady and the Tramp, many of us can’t get past the ‘we are Siamese if you ple-ease’ song when thinking of that breed of cat.

But now we have a new-found respect and adoration for them, after news broke that Coco the cat adopted rejected Shih Tzu puppy Hope.

The adorable family now consists of Coco, her three kittens, and Hope.

Hope was rejected by mum Diamond after she was born alongside a stillborn sibling three weeks ago, the same day as Coco gave birth to her litter.

Coco then took on Hope as one of her own, even feeding her.

'I rubbed a bit of the cat and kitten scent on Hope before putting her straight in with the rest of the litter'

Coco's owner Paula Ball persuaded partner David Cohen- Diamond’s owner- to introduce the pair.

'I suggested it because there was no other option - the puppy wouldn't have survived otherwise,' she said.

'I rubbed a bit of the cat and kitten scent on Hope before putting her straight in with the rest of the litter.

'Hope then went to feed on Coco, and Coco let her.

'Since then, their bond has only grown stronger. Coco is so attached to Hope. If she's not around, she is looking around for her.

'We're going to sell the kittens but I'm going to keep Hope. She's part of the family now!’
