The 22-month-old, along with his brother and sister, was playing unsupervised in a city park near their babysitter’s house.
Around midday, a man came up and talked with the children for a few minutes, before scooping the baby out of his stroller and running off with him down the street.
In shocking CCTV footage, taken from a local grocery store, the toddler's brother Brenden, 10, and sister, Delicia, 8, can be seen racing after the man whilst screaming for help.
One witness told KXLY.com: "This man busts out and runs across the street and he’s got a baby and a little girl right behind him screaming.
"The girl said, 'That man got my baby brother! That man got my baby brother!"
After two teenagers joined the chase, the kidnapper dropped the baby boy off and quickly made his escape.
Thankfully the little boy was unharmed.
Now police have released the disturbing footage, filmed in Connecticut, in the hope that it will help them apprehend and arrest the baby snatcher, who is described as being about 30 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-2, with a thin build, brown hair and a moustache.
The boy’s father Michael Wright, said: "I can’t explain the feeling, the anxiety and everything that goes into finding out your child is missing or something has happened to them."
