A three-year-old girl has lost her life after falling from a hotel balcony during a trip to Disneyland.

Stephanie Martinez was on holiday in California with her family when tragedy struck.

According to US reports, the young Disney fan’s mother was in the shower whilst the rest of her family were in the courtyard of the hotel, six miles way from the world famous park.

In a bid to reach her family, Stephanie fell from the balcony. Despite her father’s efforts to save her, she died a short while later at hospital.

Stephanie's death has come as a shock

A witness told KVVU-TV: “Her mom came out to check up on her. She saw her hanging off the rails. She screamed, so the little girl got scared and fell down from the fifth floor.”

Stephanie’s family have paid tribute to their little girl, with her father reportedly telling the news station: "“[She was usually] running around, dressing up, you know, simple things that a little girl would want to do.

Her cousin added: “Unfortunately, she left us at an early age.”

The family, originally from Las Vegas, have now set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money to bring Stephanie’s remains back to her hometown for burial.
