The family and friends of a 92-year-old woman have been left outraged after she was mistakenly declared dead. She then later woke up ‘screaming’ in a funeral home.

A worker at the morgue in Berlin, Germany, discovered the woman was alive after hearing her crying.

She was locked in the refrigerator at the morgue when she ‘miraculously woke up.

Now the doctor who pronounced her dead is being prosecuted for negligence. He pronounced her as dead after the woman’s carer failed to find a pulse.

Sadly, the woman- who has not been named- passed away two days later in hospital. Her cause of death was reportedly heart disease but unrelated to the morgue incident.

German prosecutor Birgit Juergens says that the woman’s doctor could face a fine or a prison sentence if convicted of negligent bodily harm.

A similar incident occurred in Poland last year when a 91-year-old woman ‘came back to life’ less than 12 hours after she had been declared dead.

According to reports, she woke up in a body bag just two days before her funeral was being held.

How terrifying!
