Kleyo De Abreu’s aunt looked on in horror as her niece was killed on 3PM on Tuesday, as she bungeed off the Tablate Bridge in Lanjaron, Granada.

The aspiring fashion student from Brixton was visiting relatives in Spain when the incident happened, just after returning from a stint in Morocco.

Her father, Bernard Atwell, has paid tribute to his ’sweet, caring, bubbly and focused’ daughter, who was just starting out.

‘My daughter is gone and nothing is going to bring her back, but I have spoken to the family and we are all on the same page - we don’t want something like this to happen again.’

And although Spanish authorities have said it is too early ‘to draw any conclusions about the circumstances of the death, one of the lines of enquiry is that there was a miscalculation with the rope.’

However, the general consensus seems to be that Ms De Abreau hit the Roman Bridge underneath the bungee bridge, striking her head and causing fatal injuries.

Tablate Bridge near Granada has a drop of 80m and is a popular jump site for adventure sports firms.
