OAP Sheila Vogel, who stars in Channel 4 documentary My Granny The Escort, has appeared on This Morning to defend her career as a 'prostitute' and slam those who judge her for it.
"I'd do something that would earn me some money"
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holy Willoughby, Sheila explained how her family reacted to the news she has sex for money, saying: "I suppose it is a little bit of a shock to them, but I'm not a murderer.
"I have a wonderful daughter called Josie who has been so wonderful to me, as well as a wonderful grandson and they have supported me and not been judgemental. The other lot, I'm afraid, have been very judgemental to me and also some of my friends."
Sheila has only been escorting for the past four years, after outliving both of her husbands.
She turned to the profession after she found life on her own lonely, admitting dating websites were a 'lot of rubbish'.
"Life before escorting was different because I was having children and bringing them up and I had two husbands," she explained.
"I went on a few dating sites but to tell you the truth it was a lot of rubbish. I then decided rather than wasting my time, that I'd do something that would earn me some money."
Sheila has said that, while her clients just want sex, she prefers 'loving sex' - and is willing to give it to the right person.
She explained: "When you're into that sort of thing, probably it's just more sex but I prefer loving sex.
"I have a lot of love to give to someone who would like to give it to me. Love and affection is vert important to me."
However, despite being paid an eye-watering £250-an-hour by clients, Sheila has revealed that she does draw the line in the bedroom - particularly when it comes to one particular request.
“There are things I will not do.
“I think the viewers will guess what the other type of sex is.”
"I go twice a year for medical inspections to make sure everything is OK"
Phillip then quote a Meat Loaf reference at Britain's oldest escort, saying: “You’ll do anything for love, but not that”.
However, while she laughed at the joke, Sheila remained very serious when talking about her sexual health.
She said: “I look after myself very well. I go twice a year for medical inspections to make sure everything is OK. Touch wood everything is OK.”
“Well you’ve certainly done a lot of that,” quipped Phillip.
Sheila might sell herself for sex, but the twice-widowed escort still believes that there is a difference between being an escort and a prostitute.
She explained: "I suppose if you get down to the nitty gritty, you could call it prostitution but I think of prostitutes standing out on the street corner in very short skirts, stopping cars and I don't do that.
"So I don't think of myself as a prostitute, I think of myself as an escort who is just making a man happy."
