Police are investigating a frighteningly high number of sex attacks in South West London, that have all taken place over a three week period this month.

Due to the small area the attacks cover, as well as the timeframe, investigators believe that they may be dealing with ONE rapist, who is targeting young women on their own late at night.

The perpetrator seems to be looking out for women in their 20s and 30s at night, when they are on their own and vulnerable.

The police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attacks

Some of the attacks even took place within hours of each other.

Superintendent Rob Applegarth of Lambeth borough, said: “We are aware of eight assaults which we are linking at this early stage.

"We have increased police patrols in Clapham and Brixton Hill and urge women to think of their personal safety.

“We are also releasing CCTV and an image of a man we would now like to speak to in connection with these incidents.”

Victims have described the man as being of Mediterranean or middle eastern appearance, with dark hair.

He has so far targeted just white females in their 20s or early 30s.

“Lambeth police would like to advise women to remain vigilant when travelling at night and would also ask that anybody who may have any information regarding these offences to make contact with police.

“The CCTV and the still are of good quality and we are confident that someone will be able to identify this particular man. I urge anyone with any information about these incidents to call us urgently.”

Anyone who has any information or witnesses should to call the 101. In the event of an emergency call 999.
