The pictures of the small prison cell Oscar Pistorius was held in for almost a year have been released. Pistorius was handed a five-year jail term for culpable homicide, after killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.

He stayed in the cell, at the Kgosi Mampuri II Prison in Pretoria, South Africam before being moved to his uncle’s house where he remains under house arrest.

The prison opened their doors to the press and now, for the first time, the public have been able to see where the Paralympian was held.

Pistorius is now waiting to hear a decision from the Supreme Court of Appeal to see whether he will have to return to the jail. His legal team argue that the prison is unsanitary and claimed Pistorius is at a heightened risk of attack because he is an amputee.

It’s reported that the decision will be announced on Thursday.
