Six-year-old Jessica Smith found out in September that she has an incurable eye condition that will leave her blind with a year.

After suffering from headaches doctors diagnosed Jessica with Leber's Congential Amaurosis, a condition that results in loss of sight.

Jessica and her mum drew up a list of all the things the brave little girl wants to see before she becomes blind.

Her mum Kinsay said: ‘I asked her if she had all the money in the world what would she like to do and she said swim with dolphins and be a Disney princess.’

‘She also wants to go and see a monkey sanctuary because she is absolutely obsessed with them, she has a monkey teddy called Mauri who goes everywhere with her.’

She continued: ‘My panic when I first heard the prognosis was how is she going to lead a normal life, how will she succeed in school, but she is a very independent little girl.’

‘She has tunnel vision and no depth perception. So she can't see below her nose and can't judge things like stairs or curbs. We've always got to be really careful and never leave anything on the floor that she could fall over.’

‘She is a very bubbly little girl, and now that she knows what is happening with her and has been helped with the brail and the cane she is a very happy child.’

‘She wants to just be normal, whatever normal means for her, and doesn't want to have her condition be an issue.’
