According to June and Barry, who are still mourning the loss of their 29-year-old daughter Reeva two years ago, the model was planning to leave Pistorius on the day she died.

In an emotional interview with Channel Seven’s Sunday Night, June and Barry alleged that their daughter ‘had her bags packed to leave’ on the night she lost her life.

June, who had warned Pistorius previously against hurting her daughter after Reeva phoned her to say Oscar was driving 'like a lunatic', said: ‘He killed her. He admits he killed her. She is dead after he made sure she was dead.

'Why didn’t he just let her walk away? Why?’

Pistorius was found not guilty of murdering Reeva and was instead sentenced to five years for Culpable Homicide, after he claimed he mistook Reeva for an intruder in his bathroom.

Shooting four times through the locked ensuite door, Pistorius killed Reeva on Valentine’s Day 2013, claiming he acted in self defence.

And after serving just ten months in a Pretoria prison for his crime, Pistorius was due for early release on Friday, August 21.

A last minute intervention by the Justice Minister prevented the athlete from getting out on parole, with it now unclear when he will be released.

Meanwhile the prosecution are still working tirelessly to upgrade his Culpable Homicide conviction to Murder, as they believe vital facts in the case were overlooked.
