Kirsty Knight ended up on the wrong side of the road when she lost control of her vehicle in February last year.

The 30-year-old ploughed into expectant mother Rebecca Taylor as she was driving to work, causing a catastrophic sequence of events.

Taylor, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time, lost her baby a few days after the incident, having suffered complex breaks to both of her legs.

Describing her ordeal, the 27-year-old told reporters that her and her partner had just got engaged at the time of the incident, and were looking forward to their baby arriving.

But tragically, that was all taken away from them on that winter morning.

The accident, that occurred in Truro, Cornwall, left Ms Taylor unable to walk for a year - with the young woman still needing plenty of medical attention to her injured legs.

She slammed Knight for having ‘no remorse’ about the incident, in which she slammed into the pregnant woman at 60mph.

Knight was found guilty of dangerous driving and sentenced to 16 months in prison.
