When 3-year-old Luke Westbrook lost his beloved dog, he was told that his furry friend had gone to ‘doggy heaven’.

Moe the beagle had been such an important part of the family, Luke couldn’t bear to accept that he had left his life forever.

So adorable Luke decided to pen a loving note to Moe from his home in Norfolk, Virginia.

He addressed the letter to ‘Moe Westbrook, Doggie Heaven, Cloud 1’.

Rather than toss the letter in the waste, Moe’s anonymous guardian angel decided to respond to the letter with a heartwarming reply.

The reply simply read: “I’m in doggie heaven. I play all day, I am happy.”

It continued: “Thanks you 4 being my friend.

“I wuv you Luke (sic).”

His mum Mary told local news: “I assumed the post office would throw it away – or that someone might even laugh at it.

“Instead, this morning this unstamped note appeared in our mailbox.”
