It is always upsetting when a handbag is stolen, but, for Katie McGregor, the thief had taken far more than just a bag. He had stolen away her precious memories of her late baby daughter.
The leather satchel bag, stolen outside The Carpenter’s Arms on Whitfield Street in central London at around 9:30pm on 2nd April, contained the little red hat that baby Isobel was wearing when she sadly passed away.
Her daughter died on 26th January last year after being born prematurely at just 22 weeks.
Emotionally pleading with Facebook followers for help, she said: "I have carried it with me every day since and now it’s gone I desperately need it back.
"Nothing else matters – the laptop, phones, everything else they can have, just please please give me my angel’s hat back."
The 29-year-old added: "I can’t bear to think I won’t have her hat back, I can’t explain how much it means to me."
Speaking with The Metro, heartbroken Katie added: "It’s everything to me, it’s a link to my daughter and it reminds me of her."
The suspect was seen running towards Goodge Street with the missing bag and was approximately 5ft 8in tall, with chin length, centre-parted, greasy black hair and wearing black rimmed glasses.
