Comedian Jason Manford has forged a career out of making us laugh, but we doubt we've ever chuckled as much as we have reading this hilarious Facebook status about parenthood.
The father-of-three revealed that his daughter woke up screaming one night and, when he ran to see what the matter was, she - like so many children before her - admitted that she was afraid of monsters.
But, for her, the monsters were a very specific breed of mischief-making beings.
And they sound, quite frankly, terrifying.
It reads: "Daughter just woke up screaming and shouting my name. I ran into her room to see what was wrong 'Daddy, the evil monkeys are trying to get me' she cried, her eyes still closed.
"I smiled reassuring 'sweetheart, there's no evil monkeys'
"'there are' she replied sleepily but then suddenly opened her eyes and stared over my left shoulder 'he's behind you'.
*"I'm not gonna lie to you, for the briefest of seconds, my arse went and I did actually look behind me. Suffice to say there were no monkeys, evil or otherwise and now everyone is back to bed. *
"Although I have thrown out the Coco-pops just incase."
We think he handled the situation VERY well - and we don't blame him for being afraid. There's nothing quite as terrifying as a small child looking at you with utter conviction and telling you the bogeyman is standing right behind you!
