We know American’s are usually much better tippers than us Brits, but this customer went above and beyond the usual 10 per cent.
After hearing waitress Brandi getting upset over not being able to visit her son, the extremely generous customer left a tip of $200 for their $9.53 bill.
They also left a note to explain the amount to a tearful Brandi. It read: “Thank you for your service.
“I overheard you talking about your son. Use this to visit him.”
Speaking about the touching act of kindness, Brandi said: “I completely broke down in the kitchen when the host brought this to show me. Kind and caring people do still exist.”
It comes after another waitress was left a 7,000 per cent tip by a very grateful customer.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, left $3,000 on a bill on $43.50 last week.
He told ABC: “This woman had been serving us for almost a year now. She’s a lovely individual, and she talked about how she was served an eviction notice last month.”
The customer was inspired by his science teacher Rich Specht’s foundation for his 22-month-old son.
Richard Edwin-Ehmer Specht died in a tragic drowning accident, and Rich and his wife started the foundation to thank everybody who had helped them during their tough time.
‘Mike’ added: “I just had also been constantly thinking about for quite some time my teacher’s project and this foundation, and I thought it was an appropriate time.”
