Clive Howard, 57, preyed on women over a 28 year period. He would search the streets looking for women walking alone at night before kidnapping and raping them.
Howard – who lived with his parents – has attacked at least six women since 1986. Since he was arrested, a further 15 women have come forward to say they were targeted by him.
Norwich Crown Court heard how Howard had raped one woman, in Suffolk, six times since 1986.
Vile Howard was caught last year after a victim went to the police and was able to help them trace his car after he attacked her and raped her in a car park.
Brave Jessica Howard – who’s not related to the perpetrator – worked with officers to track him down, before he was linked by DNA to other attacks.
In court, Jessica, 23, wept as she said how Howard had ruined her life.
She said: “Because of you, my body is now worthless to me. You took away my control and because of you my body is now an inanimate object with no worth. I wanted to throw up as I recounted what you did to me.
“You have made it impossible for me to enjoy moments of happiness. Your attack literally darkens every piece of joy I have.”
Judge Stephens sentenced Howard to a minimum of 10 years and three months before telling the court that Howard was “every woman’s living nightmare.”
He added: “This was a campaign of sex offences for many years. You did severe psychological harm to your victims.”
