Now Claire, who has daughter Maisie, five, said she can't wait for her next challenge after announcing she's expecting her second child in February next year.

Inspirational Claire, 36, from Leicestershire - who also took part in the 2012 London Marathon says: "I'm so excited to become a mum again.

"I know it will be challenging having two children, it takes me a little longer to do things like changing nappies and feeding. But I can't wait for Maisie to have a sibling.

"I found out I was pregnant a month after I got my place in the Great North Run, but I was so pleased to get a place I wanted to go ahead.

"It took me five days to complete it, I was in tears at times thinking I wasn't going to make it. But I was determined to cross the finish line."
