Pet parrot becomes a hero after saving woman from male attacker

A pet parrot came to its owner’s rescue after it scared off a male attacker.

The animal lover took her pet African grey parrot out for a walk and a flight at Sunningfields Park in Hendon, London.

The 25-year-old woman was leaving the park a man grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her to the floor.

This was a random attack on a woman walking out of a park.According to a statement by Metropolitan police, the parrot flew over to the attacker and started squaking at him.

The bird scared the startled attacker and he fled the scene, running towards Great North Road.Both the woman and the parrot escaped unharmed.

Detectives are keen to trace down the attacker to avoid any similar incidents.Not everybody has a parrot to protect them!

PC Chris Cutmore from Colindale Police Station said: ‘Although the parrot, Wunsy, came to her rescue, we are obviously very keen to trace the suspect and prevent him from attacking anybody else.’

The attacker has been described as a white male between the age of 25 and 35 years old.

The suspect was wearing beige trousers and a dark coloured rucksack at the time of the attack.
