Sylwia Rajchel, a 23 year old nursing student from Lublin, Poland was visiting the Puente de Triana bridge in Seville, Spain when the tragic accident occurred.

She attempted to take a photo of herself and apparently balanced herself on the ledge in order to do so. When she slipped over, Sylwia fell 15 feet before hitting the concrete footngs of the famous bridge.
Medical personnel attempted to revive her but unfortunately her head injuries were too extensive and she passed away later on that night.

"Going to Spain was a dream come true for my daughter. She had taught herself the language and was hoping to work there in the future after finishing her studies. She was a beautiful, smiling girl who had her whole life ahead of her. It's hard to believe what's happened, that I will never see Sylvia again" Mother, Bernadeta, told Central European News.

Sylwia's father travelled to Spain to retrieve his daughter's body and Seville city spokesman has promised that the bridge's safety will be improved in hopes of eliminating such accidents like this in the future.
