As tomorrow’s solar eclipse approaches some parents are planning on keeping their children home so they can see the magic.

Many teachers are opting to have their pupils watch the rare solar eclipse on the television in order to avoid children damaging their eyesight.

Viewing the solar eclipse with the naked eye is dangerous as it involves looking directly at the sun. It is recommended that sky watchers wear specially made sunglasses in order to view the once-a-decade occurrence.

If any children are harmed whilst watching the eclipse, schools may be held liable.

The event is scheduled to take place at approx 9.30am tomorrow morning, where the moon will pass in front of the sun blocking out 98% it’s light.

Due to schools’ precautions, parents are now threatening to keep their children home for the morning so they can witness the event.

According to the Mail Online, one mother tweeted: “Hands up who is rebelling against school rules tomorrow and sending their kids in late having watched the eclipse?”

Another wrote: “Should I take my son to school late so he can watch the Eclipse? They are watching it on TV!”
