Staff at Ashbrook Junior, in Borrowash , are said to have implemented the scheme as part of a crackdown on boys who urinated on toilet seats and the floor.
In an interview with The Sun, outraged father Darren Hayes said he was "livid" at the school's behaviour:
“I’m livid that the school did a humiliating thing like this to Thomas and his classmates.
“It’s disgusting and degrading — the kind of thing you’d expect in a Victorian workhouse, not a school in 2014.”
It was part of a plan to monitor pupils to ensure only one student went to the toilet at a time.

However head teacher Mell Julian has said the “pilot scheme” had been withdrawn indefinitely due to “parental concern”.
She said there had been problems in the boys’ toilets when more than one pupil went in at once.
“It wasn’t just mess on the floor. A door and other fittings were damaged and we’d had to close it off.
“The sign was to monitor children so they went to the toilet one at a time. But we will no longer be using it following parental concerns. We’re looking at alternatives.”
Do you think the sign was a good idea? Would you have been as furious as parents at Ashbrook Junior School if you found that your child had been asked to wear one of these signs?
