Panda ‘masturbation’ video could help save the endangered species

A video appearing to show a panda masturbating could reportedly be used to help stop the species from dying out.

The Internet clip of the panda quickly went viral, but it could hold clues as to how zoologists and animal psychologists can encourage the adorable bears to breed.

Pandas are notoriously difficult to breed in captivity, and due to large areas of their natural habitat being destroyed, scientists are still looking for ways to help prevent the bears from becoming extinct.

The video could help conservationists understand more about the breeding behaviours of pandas due to it’s ‘sexual’ content.

Pandas have a lot going against them in order to survive.

Females are only fertile a couple of days each year, and the animals are famous for having a lack of sex drive needed in order for them have cubs.

Despite this, the WWF in China reportedly ‘regret’ releasing the video as it ‘undermines’ the work of conservationists.
