Aric Keck, 51, and his 26-year-old girlfriend Jacqueline Tabb were on a dinner date in Alpharetta, Georgia, along with Keck’s 6-year-old son.
During the date, Tabb took the little boy to the couple’s car where they left him for 30 minutes so they could dine alone.
According to the Daily Mail, the car was two streets away from the restaurant where the couple were eating out.
AJC.com reports that the boy was ‘scared and sobbing’ after being left in the car alone, but luckily was able to ring his mother who informed the police.
Authorities rang the little boy whilst he was still in the car, but the boy’s father returned to the car during the call.
According to police reports, Keck then hung up the phone and called the boy’s mother back, allegedly then threatening to kill her for phoning the police.
Both Keck and Tabb were charged with reckless conduct and surrendered to the police last week.
Investigators have now looked at surveillance footage from the restaurant and car park to determine what risks the boy was exposed to.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
