Just hours after it was announced Zayn Malik had quit One Direction, the multi-million pound boy band bravely proved that the show must go on as they took to the stage in Jakarta.
Alongside bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, the band kept their promise to carry on as a foursome following Zayn’s dramatic, though not totally unsurprising departure from the former X Factor group.
Despite their solid union, Harry appeared sad and overcome with emotion as it finally sunk in that he would no longer be sharing the stage with one of his best friends.
During the band’s latest performance, he is seen struggling to fight back the tears, wiping his eyes and covering his face with his arm.
Harry’s struggled was shared with millions of fans online as part of a Vine.
Directioners commented: "Harry was crying up on stage tonight in Jakarta. DON'T DO THIS TO ME. DON'T CRY BABE."
Another wrote: "I just saw the vine of harry crying I didn't think my heart could break more than it already has."
Zayn quit the band yesterday after being signed off the One Direction world tour due to ‘stress’.
He left the band just a week after pictures emerged of him appearing to hold hands with a young blonde woman in Thailand, prompting speculation that he had cheated on Little Mix fiancée Perrie Edwards.
Zayn said in a statement yesterday: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band.
"I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22 year old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.
"I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."
