Mohammed Rafiq, 80, was furious when his girlfriend, Vikki Horsman, left him. So sickeningly, he decided to organise a revenge attack against her.
As part of the attack, vile Rafiq persuaded Shannon Heaps, 23, and Steven Holmes, 25, to attack Vikki with acid.

Holmes was paid just £50, by Rafiq, to throw the acid in Vikki’s face, on her doorstep in April.
The once pretty teenager, who was 19 at the time of the attack, was left with life changing victims and will be scarred for life. She spent five days in intensive care after suffering extensive burns to her face, neck and body.
Last week, all three were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and today they were sentenced.

Holmes was jailed for 14 years, while Heaps was handed a 12 year custodial sentence for showing Holmes the property where the attack eventually took place.
The court heard how Vikki – who converted to Islam to please Rafiq – met the pensioner when she was just 14. She left him after he became controlling but the old man later wanted revenge.
Speaking after Rafiq was jailed, Detective Constable Jason Moseley said: “This was a horrifying and complex case which centred around a controlling relationship.

“Rafiq's young ex-partner was seriously injured and left with devastating, lasting scars, which one can only presume was his intent, given the nature of the planned attack.
“He recruited two people to carry out the attack on his behalf and then tried to claim that he was also a victim.
“His victim now has to rebuild her life and move on from what was ultimately a controlling, abusive relationship that she paid a high price to leave.”
