A campaign is gathering to ban the offensive posters, which carry the slogan: ‘one in three reported rapes happens when the victim has been drinking’.
The posters, displayed in public places such as GP surgeries, hospitals and universities, have been slammed for shifting the blame onto victims of rape.

After all, while one in three reported rapes occur when the victim has been drinking, THREE in three reported rapes happen when a rapist decides to rape someone.
One disgusted woman took to Twitter, writing: "NHS victim blaming, seen at occupational health today. Disgusted."
The shocking 'Know Your Limits' posters completely contradict the NHS' own stance on rape and sexual assault, with their website firmly stating: "If you have been sexually assaulted, remember that it wasn’t your fault.
"It doesn’t matter what you were wearing, where you were or whether you had been drinking. A sexual assault is always the fault of the perpetrator."

A Change.org petition demanding the posters be banned has already gained over 7,000 signatures, insisting: "Two honourable intentions -- to stop people drinking, and to stop rape happening - are being completely deformed.
"Of course we don't want people to drink so much they make themselves ill, but threatening them with rape by implication is not the way to do it. Of course we don't want anyone to endure sexual assault and rape, but making them feel like it's their fault if they do, is so far out of order."
