The 12-year-old and his sister, 2, were subjected to unthinkable neglect which eventually led to him losing sight in one of his eyes, as a result of cataracts.
BABY LEFT BRAIN DEAD AFTER PARENTS INJECT HIM WITH CRYSTAL METH
In leaked council reports it was revealed that the abuse started as early as 2007, but the children were not pulled out of the home until 2013.
Shockingly the boy's case was closed by social services TWICE before he was rescued. The parents, Gillian Hendry and Craig Dick, both 34, have since been jailed for two-and-a-half years and two-years-and-two-months.
The leaked reports confirmed that professionals flagged up concerns for the boy to social services on multiple occasions.

It states that the parents could not control their own hygiene, rubbish bags littered the whole house, the kitchen was infested and a bedroom had been used as a toilet.
In one instance doctors reported that the boy was 'dirty to the point of being at risk from infection', but the case was dismissed.
Social Services visited the filthy, fly-infested home on more than one occasion, but failed to notice the conditions the children were living in.
COUPLE JAILED FOR NEGLECT AFTER TEACHERS WERE FORCED TO WASH THEIR 'LICE INFECTED' CHILDREN
It was discovered by social workers in June this year, 10 months after the children had been removed, that the boy had scrawled 'help me' on the wall.
The Mirror claimed that the report read: "He [the child] told the social worker that when he used to wake up at his home, he had to tend to his little sister."
Both children are said to be 'doing well' now, and it's been confirmed that Stockton Borough Council are participating in a Serious Case Review.
