The run-up to Christmas day is a stressful time for any mum- buying presents, food shopping and putting up decorations.

But for Sammie Watkins, 43, the pressure is really on. Not only is she busy organising an extra-special day for her kids, she's also preparing a separate celebration for her seven youngest 'children' - her brood of lifelike reborn dolls.

Since getting her first reborn in 2007, Sammie- who lives with husband Kenny, 56, and three sons aged between 24 and 14 months- has spent thousands on designer outfits, prams and accessories for her fake babies, who are worth over £1,500 in total.

This year, mum-of-six Sammie- who also has teenage twins and a daughter who went to live with her parents after she suffered post-natal depression- plans to splurge an additional £500 on Christmas for her fake brood.

Sammie says: "I love celebrating Christmas with my reborns, and dedicate Christmas Eve to them. It's such a family time and they remind me of when my older kids were babies.

"This year I've spent a total of £500 buying each doll a new Christmas outfit from Mothercare, a blanket and a teddy. I'll get them ready in their new outfits, then help them unwrap their presents."
