Beautician Leah Cambridge died after flying to Turkey for the £3,000 cosmetic procedure favoured by the TOWIE cast

Mum-of-three Leah Cambridge, 29, from Leeds has died while getting surgery in a Turkish clinic used by TOWIE celebrities such as Lauren Goodger and Amber Dowding.

According to The Sun Online, Leah's 'Brazilian bum lift' is said to have gone wrong after fat was deposited into her blood stream and her oxygen levels dropped. This then caused three heart attacks, but her cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Leah had booked the procedure at Elite Aftercare Clinic in Izmir which has also treated TV stars such as Chloe Khan, Chloe Ferry and Lateysha Grace.

Leah's partner Scott Franks has spoken out about the tragedy after flying to Turkey to meet Leah's parents and bring her body home.

Explaining why she booked the procedure, he told The Sun Online: "Leah was paranoid that she had excess weight from having three kids round her stomach.

"I told her she was beautiful how she was but she really wanted it for her own confidence."

He added: "People need to be aware of situations that can happen with this treatment.

"We are still waiting for answers and are also trying to get a flight to bring Leah home."

Scott has also shared emotional posts on social media.

He said: “It’s like a nightmare. Leah wanted to get married and we definitely would have in next few years but instead I’m going to have to plan a funeral.

“I’m looking at her face on video and I think it can’t be true."

Why do celebrities use plastic surgery clinics in Turkey?

Lauren Goodger

Celebrities often fly to Turkey in order to get cheaper cosmetic procedures which can cost up to 70% less than they do in the UK. Packages usually include the surgeon, operation, anesthetist, hospital costs, medication and post-operative check-ups abroad. Botched foreign cosmetic surgery procedures cost the NHS millions of pounds each year.
