Controversial mum-of-eight Marie Buchan made headlines earlier this year when she boasted of spoiling her children using benefits totalling £26,000 a year.

But now the mum says her benefits aren’t enough and so she wants to get a job as a mechanic.

Marie, who hasn’t worked for seven years, says: “I can’t get any more benefits because the Government capped benefits at £26K a year in 2014.

"I used to manage but now the kids are getting older I have to buy more food and clothes so I'm broke.

"I’m being forced to get a job but I’ll only work if I’m getting more than I earn on benefits. I also want to set a good example for my kids.”
