A record-breaking £1.2million has been spent on an enormous Tibetan Mastiff puppy in China, making it the most expensive dog in the world!

The giant golden-haired canine, which was purchased at a luxury pet auction by a 56-year old Chinese property developer, for 12 million Yuan, surpassed all previous world records, and could be the most expensive dog sale ever!

The one-year-old pup reportedly weighs 14st and stands 80cm tall. The premium breed has become increasingly popular amongst the country’s super rich, due its status as a symbol of health and security.

Meanwhile the pup’s red-haired pup brother fetched £600,000 (6 million Yuan).

The dog’s breeder - who was in no doubt overjoyed at the sale - said: "They have lion’s blood and are top-of-the-range mastiff studs."

They might be cute and cuddly but are they worth it, or is this price tag bonkers?
