You would think that nothing good can come from being jilted days before your wedding day, right?

Well, one inspiring mum decided to make some lemonade out of the lemons her former son-in-law-to-be handed her daughter.

Just days before he was due to walk down the aisle, Landon Borup, 27, dramatically called off the wedding.

Left with heartbroken daughter Quinn Duane, mother-of-the-bride Kari, 53, decided not to cancel the pricey banquet organised for the wedding guests.

Instead, she invited the homeless people of their hometown of Sacramento, California.

The bride didn't want to waste any of the wedding catering (KCRA)

Speaking to local news, Kari said: “When I found out on Monday that the wedding would not be taking place, it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back.

“I feel a lot of heartache and heartbreak for her, but I will take away something good from this.”

The thousands of pounds wort of luxury food such as steak, salmon and gnocchi fed 120 homeless guests.

One of the diners couldn’t believe the generosity of the family’s gesture, telling KCRA: “To lose out on something so important to yourself and then give it to someone else is really giving, really kind.”
