Sherren O’Hagan, mother of 20-year-old Lewis, spoke to the MailOnline outside her home in Sutton and insisted that people would get bored of the story.

She said: ‘It was just an accident. It’s not a big deal. This will all be forgotten tomorrow. He’s my son, what do you want me to say? He didn’t mean to kill him and that’s that.’

The 41-year-old continued: ‘This story will be the lining of chips tomorrow. I just don’t understand what all the fuss is about.’

Lewis Gill was given a 4 ½ year sentence for killing 40-year-old Apsergers sufferer Andrew Young with a single fatal punch.

The Attorny General has now revealed that they will be reviewing the case following complaints from the public that Gill’s sentence was too lenient.

Gill’s victim died from his injuries the day after the incident with his 71-year-old mother by his side.

The incident was also caught on CCTV, which showed Gill speaking with friends before punching Andrew in a seemingly random and unprovoked attack.
