Mother arrested for selling 12-year-old daughters’ virginities for £125

A mother-of-fourteen has been arrested on suspicion of forcing her twelve young daughters into prostitution.

Columbian Margarita de Jesus Zapata Moreno (middle right in above picture) was exposed when one of her daughters, now 16, became pregnant and contacted the police.

Moreno, 45, had allegedly ordered her daughter to have an abortion, an instruction she was not happy about.

Tito Cornelio Daza (middle left in the above picture), 51, reportedly the biological father of the girl's baby, was also arrested.

'It hurts that a mother would do this'

According to reports, Moreno would sell each of her daughter’s virginities once they turned 12, before forcing them to prostitute themselves to pay the bills.

'It hurts that a mother would do this', police chief Carlos Melendez said.

'The mother contacted highly solvent but depraved men so they could have sex with the minors when they turned 12,' he added.

The mother is currently being detained at El Buen Pastro prison facing allegations of carnal abuse of a minor under 14-years-old, and the enforcement of prostitution- charges which carry up to 10 years in prison.

Daza who is accused of abusing a minor, is in Daza is being held at Modelo Prison.

Moreno’s two youngest children, a boy of 11 and girl of 9, are said to be in the care of social workers.
