Nadia Menaz, 24, who worked as a model and wedding planner, feared she would be forced to marry someone by her parents - and so took out a Forced Marriage Protection Order against them.
On top of this stress, Nadia was also expected to testify in court against her brother, who had been charged with assaulting her.
Suffering from severe bouts of depression, the 24-year-old frequently self harmed, an inquest into her death heard.
Coroner Simon Nelson told the inquest: ‘She attended A&E following the alleged assault which documented she was suffering from a post-traumatic stress type reaction.
‘The pressure upon her remained - the forced marriage protection order, the ongoing criminal proceedings and the immediate plans she had. She so much wanted to prove herself, even though she felt unable to.’
Menaz’s parents denied trying to force Nadia into marriage, and alleged that their daughter may have been killed by a ‘third party.’
According to her psychiatrist, Nadia was still suffering from traumatic incidents in her childhood - including finding out that her 'parents' were actually her aunt and uncle, and a sexual assault that occurred when she was 15.
