Rebecca Watts, who is currently resitting her GCSE exams, disappeared last Thursday and has failed to get in touch with her family since.

Another Twitter user added: "This is a better picture of missing teen #RebeccaWatts not seen since last Thurs at her home in #Bristol #beckywatts"

Rebecca's best friend Courtney told The Mirror that the last person Becky texted was her boyfriend Luke Oberhansli, 17, to make plans for later that day but he didn't reply because he was at the dentist.

College student Courtney, 17, said: "I've got no idea whatsoever what has happened.

"It's really like she has disappeared with no trace."

Detective Inspector Richard Ocone added: “What we know is that [Rebecca] was last at her home address on Crown Hill, St George, Bristol, at about 11.15am last Thursday (19/02).

“We know she took her laptop and mobile phone with her – but no clothing or make-up. Nothing to suggest she would be away for several days.

“Becky is described as a white girl, aged 16, about 5ft 4ins and of slim build. She has long, bright red hair and is therefore very striking and noticeable.

"We believe she was last seen wearing a dark navy blue puffa jacket with fabric sleeves which was waist-length.

"Any information - no matter how insignificant you might think it is, might prove crucial in helping us find Rebecca."
