The teenager, from Bristol, went missing on 19 February and has not been seen since. She did not take a change of clothes, although it’s believed she left home with her phone, a laptop and a tablet.
The on-going police search for the teenager has intensified over the past few days, with forensic officers today returning to the 16 year old’s home, which she shares with her father, Darren Galsworthy, and his wife, to look at the family car.
Specialist officers also meticulously searched through a pond – located a mile from Becky’s home – as part of the hunt for the schoolgirl. Yesterday, sniffer dogs used in the search for Madeleine McCann and April Jones searched the house.
Detective Inspector Richard Ocone, who is leading the investigation said Becky left home between 11am and 12 pm.
He added: “There was a conversation between Becky and her stepmother that morning when she returned home. There were other people in the house at that time.
“From our perspective this is completely out of character. She has not taken anything that would suggest she was going to stay away for a long period of time.”
He would not, however, confirm which family members were inside the property at the time Becky went missing.
Her family have pleaded for her return on social media and her father has spoken at press conferences, appealing for Becky to come home.
Her mother Tanya said: "Becky I love you dearly. You're my little girl and I want you home safely. I want to give you a big hug.
“It's just hard not knowing. The police are doing all they can. It's just waiting for some news. It's awful.”
Online appeals by Avon and Somerset Police have now reached over 3.5 million people.
