Mikaeel Kular: Mum ‘beat three-year-old son for four days before burying him in the woods’

The mother of Mikaeel Kular has appeared in court over his murder as more gruesome details surrounding his death emerge.

Rosdeep Adekoya is accused of beating her three-year-old son over a four day period before he died.

She is also accused of hiding his body in a suitcase and burying him in woodland half an hour away from their home in Edinburgh.

The prosecution has claimed that Mrs Adekoya beat Mikaeel on numerous occasions prior to his death. She is also accused of failing to seek medical attention for Mikaeel and murdering him.

Mrs Adekoya reported her son missing to police last year, claiming that he had disappeared from his room.

She was then arrested after police found the little boy’s body behind a house in Fife.

Hundreds of members of the public helped with the search, which was called off following the grim discovery of Mikaeel’s body.

Before Mikaeel’s disappearance he was notably absent from nursery school.

Mrs Adekoya is scheduled to appear in court again on July 25.
