The most common reason for these men dumping a partner isn't a very nice one

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for the men who took part in this survey, it was only skin deep, as weight gain in a partner came out as the top reason they'd dump someone.

Women, on the other hand, went for the more understandable (and less shallow) "political differences".

These findings come from dating website WhatsYourPrice, which sounds a bit shady in its MO. "Get paid to date generous men", reads its blurb – from what we can see, male members are supposed to offer money to try and secure dates with "beautiful" women, so perhaps the results of the survey aren't all that surprising.

The survey spoke to 6,842 members of the site, both male and female, to find out what would make them ditch a date. After weight gain, which 27% of respondents chose as their top reason, comes attachment – hang on, isn't that the point of a relationship?

We're not saying you shouldn't use this website to try and find a partner, but we're also not sure these men sound like marriage material.

Some answers were understandable - men and women both said jealously would make them reconsider a relationship, while mistrust and infidelity were also mentioned.

One thing's for sure, though – true love can definitely see past someone's body shape.
