We know Londoners can get aggressive from time to time, but by God, this is ridiculous…

As two men entered the tube at Canning Town this week, they both headed towards the same seat.

One of the men promptly put his bag on the seat to claim it, but the other gentleman was not having any of it.

The bag plonking sparked a physical altercation between the two individuals, which apparently left the bag dropper with a broken jaw.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm and has now been released on police bail.

British Transport Police are now appealing for witnesses of the incident, which took place on June 29 at 6.30AM.

Investigating officer DC Blackburn said:

‘I am keen to speak to anyone who was on board this service and who may have witnessed the incident.’

‘The victim suffers a nasty injury and I urge anyone to come forward if they have any information which could help the investigation.’
