Man jailed for TWELVE years after revenge porn plot to ‘destroy ex-wife’s life’

James Casbolt, who was married to American heiress Haley Meijer, attempted to blackmail his ex and her family out of £2 million, after their relationship turned sour.

The 37-year-old, who begged his wife to send him intimate images while he was serving in the US Army in 2010, turned violent when he returned from military service, with Heidi eventually filing for divorce.

But this angered Casbolt, who then demanded that Heidi, whose father is billionaire Hank Meijer, pay him off to prevent the explicit material reaching the internet.

Prosecutor Philip Lee explained that Casbolt turned violent when he left the forces in 2012, and after Meijer filed for divorce he told her ‘he would dedicate the rest of his life to destroying her.’

‘He said to her, “I will now release porn pictures of you to the world.”’

Despite a restraining order taken out last tar, Casbolt ignored this to email his ex last year telling her to give him £2 million.

Casbolt, who lived in St Ives, Cornwall, also threatened pro surfer Tassy Swallow, 20, and stylist Simone Everett, 28, while he was on bail.

He has now been jailed for 12 years.
