Noe Iniguez, 36, has been sentenced to one year in jail for uploading the photo of his ex, calling her a ‘slut’ and a ‘drunk’ in the caption.
The American began harassing his ex on Facebook in December 2013, and posted the photo a few months later.
His ex had already secured a restraining order against him in November 2011, when he harassed her with several messages following the end of their four-year relationship.
New laws passed in the past year make Noe’s actions a criminal offence, deeming the sharing of someone’s naked image without their permission an illegal act.

Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer said: ‘This conviction sends a strong message that this type of malicious behaviour will not be tolerated.’
He referred to the law as a ‘valuable tool to protect victims whose lives and reputations have been upended by a person they once trusted.’
This is the first time that the law has been used to secure a conviction, and is being heralded as a victory for victims everywhere.
