On Wednesday morning Kamlesh Ramji was allegedly pushed under a tube at Kentish Town underground station in London. Now, police have charged Devindra Ferguson with attempted murder.

Horrified commuters tried to help following the incident and the station was closed while the emergency services attended the scene. Police later released CCTV from the station which showed a man, now thought to be Ferguson, leaving the scene.

Kamlesh suffered internal injuries and remains in hospital in central London. He was reportedly pushed underneath the oncoming tube by Ferguson, who appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today after handing himself in.

It’s reported that Kamlesh is in a serious but stable condition and a British Transport police spokesperson said he will “probably be in hospital for some time”.

Ferguson has been remanded in custody and will stand trial at Blackfriars Crown Court.
