Nathen Steffel from Ohio, U.S., posted on Reddit last Thursday, showing a picture of his daughter Sophia hooked up to various tubes in hospital.

With the photo, he asked for Photoshop-savvy people to edit the image so he could see what his baby girl would have looked like if she hadn't been so ill.

'My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital' he wrote. 'Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?'

And after just a matter of days, Mr Steffel received a 'whole lot of love and support from complete strangers' who wanted to help him fulfil his wish.

Tragically, Nathen's daughter Sophia died at just six weeks old after complications from a liver tumor.

She was on the waiting list for a liver when she passed away on July 10, to her parent's heartbreak.

'I was overwhelmed with the response I got' said Nathen. 'My wife and I were so grateful so many people took the time out of their own lives to either send a nice message of sympathy or an awesome drawing.'
