Alan Barnfield, 44, this week gave evidence at Sheffield Crown Court, over allegations he had sex with a Shetland pony called Sky in August 2012.
He was asked by prosecutor Louise Reevell why police found him ‘sweating profusely’ and ‘smelling of horses’, and why he was carrying three cans of deodorant.
But Alan insisted he has a disorder which makes him sweat a lot, and reasoned that he works in a deodorant factory, hence why he has so much.
However Mrs Reevell said: “You had the DNA of a horse on swabs that were taken on your penis and that’s because you had sex with Sky.”
Alan denied this.
He was then asked: “What part of a horse are you most attracted to?” He replied: “I’m not attracted to horses.”
Despite his denial, Alan admitted that he’d previously pleaded guilty to possessing images depicting bestiality.
But he insists that he does not know how the images, showing a woman and a horse, had got on his phone.
Alan is also accused of assaulting the pony with two bottles before having sex with it.
The trial continues.
