Every year, thousands of young British people flock to Majorca’s party resort for sun, sea, sex and alcohol.
But following last year’s scandal involving a girl being filmed performing a sex act on 24 men, it seems Magaluf is cracking down.
From 1 May drinking on the streets at night will be banned. Police will have the power to confiscate alcohol between 10pm and 8am.
Magaluf is known as somewhere the party never ends but the legislation is set to tame things considerably.
Shops will no longer be allowed to sell alcohol after midnight or before 8am, and reps will only be able to organise bar crawls with a maximum of 20 people between 8pm and midnight.
A spokesman for Magaluf town hall said: “The common aim here is reaching agreements that give maximum guarantees over the security and quality of services tourists to Magaluf receive, to improve Magaluf’s image as a tourist destination in national and international markets.”
Event organisers will also stopped from promoting drinking games to attract punters to their bars.
According to some reports British police may even be drafted in to assist Spanish officers enforcing the new rules.
